A Sunday Conversation--3.25.07

What a fitting end to "A KIngdom Cause!" As the last service of the day wound down i ran into an attender in his mid-50's who immediately stated, "I need to talk about baptism." Ten minutes later he was praying to recieve Jesus amid the buzz of activity all around us int he courtyard. As he wiped away tears of joy, my new brother in Christ proclaimed, "I have some people I want to invite the day I'm baptized. They need to know the positive impact they made to get me to this point."

Who are you targeting for a conversation that will change thier world forever? Never underestimate the sower of a testimony of God's life-changing love, espically in relaxed, casual settings.

A Sunday School Conversation

One of our Adult Sunday School teachers, after describing several mission and service activites that the class had done, concluded by saying:

"The examples could go on and on. I do not share these for anyone to say hey look at all that class is doing. The class does most everything behind the scenes, without any fanfare, and not wanting any attention brought to it. They share their time, their money, and their hearts as they feel God leads. I do share some of these things to show that I believe they have caught the vision of reaching others for Christ, and ministering to the needs around them both in the class and in the community, and around the world (many have gone on international and U.S. mission trips). They realize that there is not a time to retire from serving God. As you probably know, most of this class is 65 and older. That is what amazes me about them, and keeps me fueled, and energized as their teacher. The class does not want to rest on what has been done but are anxious to see, and be involved in what God wants done next."

A Kingdom Cause

The ground is being made ready and the expectation is rising. Soon the structure for a new sanctuary will take shape. A pictorial scrapbook of the construction will be updated here on a weekly basis. Keep up to date with what God is doing by visiting the site.

Always remember, the building is useless unless it motivates us even more to reach our community for Christ. The souls of men, and not brick and mortar, are our first priority!

Courtyard Conversations

Courtyard Conversations is a blog devoted to describing and illustrating how God is at work in the lives of people who are connected to First Baptist Simpsonville. Each staff member will at one time or another post a thought or share a story to illustrate God's activity in the lives of His people.

Please feel free to send us a story of how God is working in your life. These "Conversations" are evidence of how God works. Your story can be a powerful witness to many who read.

Thank You and may God be praised as His story is lived out in your life!
