Every time I have the opportunity to speak I love it. This time I was so nervous about one point in my sermon. My anxiety came because I know that their are so many single parents. I really had not intended to say this but I guess the Holy Spirit put it on my heart. I said "And for those Single parents, I believe that God will stand in the Gap for those who do not have a spouse or parent.
After the second service a single mom came to me in tears. She wanted me to know that what I was saying was the truth. She said God had always been faithful for her and her two little girls. I hugged her neck and told her how anxious I was about that section of my sermon. She said that it was true that God was always standing in the gap for them.
I told her that the church really needed to hear what she had to say. If I would have been smart I would have let her preach the next two services. Personal experience sure is powerful.
